It Snowed Last Night
Up here in the hills-atop-hills, which means the lowlands of Gomorrah-in-the-Irwell may have no more than a light sprinkling. What happens in Royton is that the first day of or after a snowfall is all bright and picturesque, with scads of families heading to Tandle Hill Park to go sledging. Then the trodden snow turns to ice, and the sun never rises high enough to melt any of it, meaning any movement by pavement is fraught with hazard. Art!
