An Attack Of Look Back

Yes, Time For Sunday's Retrospective

Firstly, because I have lately been watching my DVD of "Dad's Army" I would like to recall an episode I don't have: "Asleep In The Deep".  In this episode most of the better-known faces in the first section are trapped in a pumping station's inner sanctum.  The corridor behind the entrance door has collapsed due to bomb damage, there is no other way out, and the chamber is flooding.  Art!

Please note those Brodie-pattern helmets they are wearing.

The section eventually discover a manhole that allows them to escape, leaving behind their helmets - I think the escape route is a narrow one.  These are left floating on top of the water, and when Corporal Jones, who had been stuck outside in the corridor, manages to look into the chamber via an access panel, all he sees are helmets, bobbing on top of the water - to comic despair.  Art!

Despite being a butcher, not the sharpest of blokes

How feasible is this? because these weren't helmets floating upside down, which would be perfectly possible; no, these were helmets the right way up.  Helmets that weigh over 2 pounds each.  It is probably possible to float a Brodie in such a way that the air trapped beneath it means it floats rather than sinking, except you'd need to do it in perfectly still water.

ANYWAY I thought we were here to do a time-saving collection of links?
