That Makes Perfect Sense Here In The Pond Of Eden
(for we have been enduring much in the way of rain), as in the sense of being very distant indeed. Do they have such a saying in the Netherlands? I doubt it, the Netherlands being famously flat. What about Ruffia, with it's vast open spaces untroubled by hills or mountains: unless they have a local variant that invokes the Urals, which would fit the bill, seeing as how they are far distant from the steppes around Moscow and Kiev.
