Why Finnish? Why not. They are a stoic and uncommunicative lot, rather like Yorkshiremen living in semi-permanent winter. As a nation bordering the Sinister Union and now Ruffia, they are also armed to the teeth, with an enormous military reserve that could mobilise in about forty seconds and put a million men (and women) into the field. Art!
The Finns take national defence very seriously. They were never part of NATO but the Sinister Union and Ruffia both avoided annoying them, because if you persistently poke a wolf with a stick, you end up as a Lupine Snack Treat.
