The "Chair" I refer to is that one obtained on a positive odyssey to Yorkshire. I may have an older picture knocking around somewhere -

Well, it has been supplanted in the lounge by a rocking chair, which is rather less - ah - robust in build, and The Chair now graces my room. It took a bit of backing and filling to get it there. Edna appreciates it. Art?

It's very comfortable. Probably too comfortable, as I suddenly awoke in it at 1:20 a.m. in the small hours, which is fine on a Saturday/Sunday night, considerably less so on a school night. Your modest artisan is off on leave next week, though, so it won't be an issue for a while.

Damn You, Words!
You know your humble scribe by now, ever one to muck about with words, and when I realised that last week's MEN had an untackled Wordsquare, it proved to be too tempting. This is why this afternoon's post was not on-line sooner. Bad Conrad! Naughty Conrad!

I post this as I know you lot are all skeptics unless there's proof, and although there's no way to tell except my honest face, I don't cheat by using a dictionary for the various words. So there. Oh, and "Good" was defined as 15 words, so I've hit that target at least.

Spring Has Arrived
You can tell because Wonder Wifey is out in the back yard after being at the garden centre. We here in the Allotment of Eden have to make the most of any sunny periods, as there's no saying when the grim grey grimy skies will return. Thus we now have a prospective vegetable section. Art?

No strawberries this year, or at least not yet. Conrad would have to swoop in un-noticed to acquire these if they do get planted, and then think of some way to blame the birds or Edna, in that order.
Round the corner, on the now well-weathered wicker settee, there will be a display of vibrantly bright flowers on different levels. Art?

Oh I See NOW It's A Classic
If you weren't around at the time when Pink Floyd's "The Wall" was released then you won't appreciate the sheer loathing and hatred that some sections of the music press directed at it. I recall the NME, in particular, hating it with a passion and declaring that it possessed enough musical ideas for an EP, at most. This, since you probably weren't born when they were being released, was like a single with four tracks.

Well, how have the mighty fallen, eh? The NME is now a wretched free "magazine" that consists of 50% adverts with content written by nobodies and is utterly indistinguishable from The Metro, which is not a compliment in anyone's eyes. "The Wall", on the other hand, is now being hailed thus by the Beeb:

Personally it's not Conrad's favourite Floyd album (that would be either "Animals" or "Wish You Were Here").

This is, by it's own admission, a disco tribute to the music of Pink Floyd, which is one of those ideas so out of left-field that it's either brilliant or terrible, possibly both at the same time. Give it a go and see what you think!
