The Avengers

No, not that Avengers, this Avengers
Don't mistake

The Avengers.  John Steed.  Emma Peel. Colour.  What more could a man want?
For

Despite their mostly-American  awesomeness, the Brits still have a better theme tune.
I am currently reading Marvel's "Essential Avengers", on loan from Royton Library.  Thank you whomever decides to purchase these for the lending public, this greying old man appreciates it.
Some of the villain's titles, however ...  I mean, "Count Nefaria"??  Realllly?  It's hard to take a villain seriously with a name like that.

Cornbread Chicken Cobbler
I made this on a whim.  It worked rather well, actually, although the chicken bit could have done with more savour to balance the sweetness of the cornbread.  Enough to feed three people, or four with a serving of spaghetti or boiled potatoes.  Conrad is pleased.

Kneeling Chair

A Bauhaus dog?  No!  It's a Kneeling Chair
Weep, dear reader, weep, as you contemplate the aged Conrad toiling over a keyboard, his back contorted into a sinusoidal nightmare that results in a whiney middle-aged man feeling sorry for himself.
     Well, up until yesterday.
Wifey came back from a trip to her favourite charity shop with a rather shabbier version of the above.  And what do you know, it works - my back is comfortably straight and I'm no longer Quasimodo-of-the-keyboard.

Hmmm.  I just Googled "ramrod straight back" to find a fitting sign-off image.  Who showed up?  This guy.  Some things are just meant to be, I guess ...

Tally-ho!
