Yes, Your Humble Scribe Has Been Doing Last-Minute Xmas Shopping
Partly because here in the UK the Christmas season begins in late September, before Halloween and Bonfire Night even, which causes me to sneer dismissively, grumble "Bah! Humbug!*" and not bother about getting presents until mid-December.
ANYWAY I presume that you all have better things to do than read the fever-dreams of an old fart, so all you get today are links, links and links.
Of course - obviously! - we need a click-baity picture to ensnare the unwary. Steve! (Steve is depping for Art, whom is off on leave).
Science-fiction as a genre is not known for it's humour across the board ("Red Dwarf" is the exception that proves the rule), so this seasonal image from nearly 70 years ago might raise a smirk or two. Just imagine, 69 years before this publication, science-fiction was being written by Jules Verne and H. G. Wells.
And now for the links. CAUTION! Not all had an entry on the 24th. I hope you can forgive me.
