 - not to mention hail from This Sceptred Isle to recognise that line.  It's from "Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?", a sitcom from the Seventies, and was part of the poignant theme song, ending in " - the past".  The series was a sequel to "The Likely Lads" and is a rare example of a sequel being better than the original.  It might be a bit hard for South Canadians to follow, since the accents hailed from the darkest North-East, where they speak funny even by our island nation's standards.

"Bob sighed resignedly; Conrad mocking his accent was nothing new."
