Serendipity

Or, An Accidental Discovery
Trebled.  First case of Saturday serendipity - Millhead Animal Rescue charity shop, with an interesting selection of very cheap books.  Watch out, Millhead, Conrad will be back!
Case the second:  Mango Ray's Cointreau and passion fruit mulled wine is very nice!  Cloyingly sweet, the way us Aldebaranians human We like it.
And for the third - Volcano Choir.  I went into Fopp grimly determined not to buy a CD but they were playing such good songs I had to ask who it was and
Reader, I bought it.  Imagine equal parts Coldplay and Bloc Party, with a dash of whisky and lemon
Conrad's Secret Sin Revealed
Not that secret, really.  Hey Pesto!  Today's book buying selection:
Baking, Bertie Wooster and Bands.
All sourced from charity shops. Another four to add to my Military Book Barn list, too - o! woe what a chore.

Shopping In Manchester Today
I got what I wanted, so - result!  The markets area was utterly rammed, however.
Yes a Googled crowd picture.  However, it must be Manchester.  Because it's raining.
For all that, the huddled masses were pretty well-behaved.  Even the ranty Christian guy with loudspeaker was a bit muted today.

Your Astronomy Catch-up
Well, the rabbit ran.  That is, Jade Rabbit, China's lunar rover, made a successful soft-landing on the Moon today.  Witness Auntie Beeb:

Jade Rabbit is not built for speed - it manages 1/8th m.p.h.*

But wait!  There's more.  The Indian space probe to Mars:

It'll not get there until September next year, mind.

Righto, off to update that book list.  Top hole!

* None of that metric nonsense here.
