Do You See What Lengths I Go To?
In real life there was no fire, and although the A57 at the Snake Pass had been closed due to flooding last week, it was open for traffic in both directions, despite a lone illuminated sign at the end of Ladybower Reservoir claiming it was "CLOSED FLOODING". No it wasn't, you liar, I'd already come from the other end!
There was plenty of run-off from the hills, and at one section literally half the road had vanished into a landslide, so it was single lane traffic and roadworks. Conrad is curious to see how they'll remedy that.
My reason for journeying across the Pennines into the far distant Foreign Territory of Storrs was to test-run a "What A Cowboy" scenario that Richard had created. More of that later, mayhap. In the meantime, let me prod Art awake with this cutlass I found in the larder -
I think we'll come back to this one, too.
