Steve Is In Charge Of Memory Around Here
He can be a slacker at times. For example, there's that post-apocalyptic novel for Young Adults, where a group of teens survive the apocalypse which turns everyone else into statues. I recall that one of them shoots dead an escaped lion- always a problem in post-apocalyptic scenarios - with an improvised dum-dum bullet, that they have trouble with a group of convicts who escaped stony death by hiding out in a salt mine, and that the novel ends with everyone dead, survived only by a bunch of androids that one of them built. Art!
Can I remember the title? No I cannot. Can I remember the author? No I cannot. There's a vague recollection that he wrote a different novel, also for YA, about a temporary emergency where animals agree to speak to humans. Nope, Steve can't help with the title there either. Ah, the mists of time, because it was a good fifty years ago.
We will probably come back to Steve. For now, on with the collection of links!
