Not Sure How This Will Go -

I Have Started Early -
 - but I am also watching Netflix 'Lost In Space', so I shall probably not get much done very quickly.
What the heck, it's not like I'm on a schedule here.  I shall work at my own pace.   I don't know why I just specified that, since I always do; "Aim to post before 4 post meridian" is the guideline.
OH YES!  The KILLER EELS have made a reappearance on LiS, and I think I might be able to provide you with evidence if Art can be poked awake and active with a fork -
A tad blurry, but there's no denying that's a KILLER EEL!
Now, I have to warn you of SPOILERS AHEAD, so if you've not seen LiS then you might want to stick your fingers in your ears, go "LA LA LA" and move on to the next post.
Okay?  These eels are a major plot point; they live on methane hydrates and are thus capable of metabolising the liquid fuel used in the Jupiter spacecraft, and have done.  The script rather skates over how they got into the fuel tanks in the first place - "It's in the screenplay" I suppose.  Nor does it explain why something that lives on petrol needs to have such big teeth and be so aggressive.  IITS.
Okay, nice short Intro for once, let's put the motley in a fat suit and roll it down the ski-ramp!

Starlight (By Mark Millar And Goran Parlov
I have done my ususal thing when reading a comic book - whiz through paying close attention to the text , so that I understand what the story is.  Not that I completely ignore the artwork; Mister Parlov has got the style of Moebius down pat, and the retro Flash Gordon look is highly entertaining.  Art?
Not sure why this is upside down ...
(Note Iron Giant and Bender in the background)
Mr Parlov has a bit of fun with the backgrounds, too.  See how many homages you can find in the background here, once I prod Art into life.  Art?

I think you can seen what I mean about the Moebius artwork.  And I had better not hear any quibbling along the lines of "Who's 'Moebius' when he's at home?"

Spot The Difference
No, I do not refer to Spot The Dog, although you may spot the dog if you wish, which is not particularly difficult.  Art?
Dozing dog
That's Edna in her default position; if she can't be aboard a Human-Shaped Cushion then the armchair it is.  Please also note the unopened pack of Hoi Sin Duck wraps, which are only four days or so past their sell by date - practically new.
Now, it is a given that dogs are motivated pretty much by their stomachs and what they can fit in there, and Edna is no exception.  As the title says, spot the difference.  Art?
Eager, expectant, alert dog
Once that packet was opened she was off the chair instantly, hanging around like a hopeful hound.  Wonder Wifey will be pleased to hear that she got not so much as a lick of the plate, never mind the Hoi Sin Duck - hey, that was my lunch!

I Can't Give You A Flying Car -
Would a nuclear-powered one do instead? Let me introduce you to one of the Fifties dafter ideas: the Ford Nucleon.  Art?

Red - for danger
This baby was a design concept that thankfully never made it to the production stage.  It is powered by a small fission reactor that you can see in the rear, which works a steam turbine.  The design was intended to replace the reactor after 5,000 miles for a fresh one.  Which means the Murder Mobile would have needed 14 of them by now.  Wonder what the unit cost was?
The Nucleon anticipated fission reactor design managing to reduce the size of reactors to one that would fit in a car, which never happened.

Sadly, this is about as compact as they get

This is a small model, built to fit inside a nuclear submarine and pretty obviously it won't fit into a family saloon.  An 18-wheeler, perhaps, if it had a reinforced chassis.

Oh, All Right
Jean Giraud, better known as Moebius, was an extremely influential French comic artist, sadly now deceased.  I have several of his collected works up in the cupboard which would be too difficult to get out, so you can have a picture instead.  Art?

SFW
Be warned that some of his stuff, done for European comics with a mature audience, can be highly NSFW.

Okay, LiS is done - and so am I
