However, I was looking at Youtube last night, and their "Reddit - When Did You/They/Her Blow Up/Burn/ Bulldoze The Neighbour's/Orphans/Tax Office's Own Personal Crack House/Torture Chamber/Bondage Den" came up, and it featured -

     Anyway!  Back to that title, and there is no doubting that South Canada is an enormous country, I mean it fits the gap between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, which is a bit of a big ask for any country.  Art!

     Unlike many of you, Conrad has flown across the immensity of the US from East to West, and it was a tremendously long flight, I can assert with no contentions.  
     Others, too, have noticed this gigantic geographical gap.  Art?

     If you drove for 12 hours in any direction within This Sceptred Isle, you'd be in the middle of the Irish or North Sea if not the Atlantic Ocean.  If you managed this in Europe, then you'd be either under the guns of some hostile Ruffian border guards, a perplexed Nork or a quizzical Morroccan with a custom's stamp.
     South Canada is LARGE.
     Of course that means all their history is diluted across the landscape, whereas here in Perfidious Albion our history is highly-concentrated for a higher Per History Coefficient!
     Or something.  Currently listening to Carpark North's "Homeland", which is a magnificent slice of electro-pop and, remember folks, when the Zombie Apocalypse arrives, those Danes will have an advantage thanks to their island status.

From our enormous trans-Atlantic cousins, we move to the comparatively tiny nation of Czechia, firmly affixed in the centre of Europe.  Unless anyone has plans to crack the continent apart with hypernuclear weapons?

     Great, as that would probably ramp up airfares if - sorry, what?  No, no, despite what you heard "Hypernuclear" is a silly hyperbolism that Conrad -

     Well <swells with pride> thanks to being a military anorak, I had this one as of ages ago.  If you look at a map of Europe, Czechia is about European Dead Centre.  Art?

     This central position is not necessarily a good thing, as it means you are quite likely to be passed through by the armies of other nations who intend to do harm to another nation, or if they're just acquisitive rascals (yes, looking right at you, Herr Schickelgruber).
Bitching Bad News
Just read that Grant Imahara, one of the "Mythbusters" junior team, has unexpectedly died, which kind of casts a shadow over the day.  Only 49 too.  Art?

     He was, like Rowan Atkinson, an electrical engineer.  And he always exuded a geeky enthusiasm on the show.

Known as "The push of pike"

     In real life those pikes would be held horizontally, all the better to poke big holes in the opposition, though it rarely came to such; most units of men in uniform will break and run rather than end up risking a pig-sticker in their gizzard (see the history of 2nd Battalion The Royal Munster Fusiliers).  Pretty obviously you cannot do that as a re-enactor even with a blunt pike or one with a rubber pike spike.

     Ah, I can tell postie's been, as our four-legged alarm system went tearing out of my Sekrit Layr where she had patiently watched every mouthful of food I ate, pretending to be uninterested.

     I discovered this interesting site last night, though it hasn't been updated in 15 years.  In fact the last "What's New" says that the website's creator was exceptionally busy at work, which was why it hadn't been updated for a while: and that was back in 2005.
     One suspects the worst, and that said creator is no longer amongst the living.  On the other hand, they might have taken so long to get back to the site that they shrugged and moved on.  These blog things do have a way of eating up your spare time.
